Bill Derrick Profile Photo

I live in Hudson, WI. Married 45 years with 4 married adult children and 7 grandchildren. I have a civil engineering degree and a master's in business, both from the University of Minnesota. I have worked in construction all my life and have been a leader of family business, Derrick Companies of New Richmond, WI, a residential and commercial/industrial contractor, and also a land development firm. I helped lead our business through the five years of a terrible downturn during the Great Recession from 2007 to 2012. We survived by just barely. In 2013, I was diagnosed with a non-curable blood cancer, Multiple Myeloma. I endured a stem cell transplant in 2016 and have been in remission since 2018! I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2024 and will undergo radiation treatment for that in May 2026. I live life with the belief that God has kept me alive for a reason. My mission is to make a positive impact in the lives of others using my story of resilience and hope.
